Meeting with the Highways Department

Date: December 2009

Two members of the Steering Committee had a meeting with the Highways Department in December. This was a less than encouraging meeting as it would appear more and more hurdles are being put in our way.

We have not however been deterred, indeed it has galvanised us into action. Earlier this month we met the Parish Council who appear to be very much in favour of what we are trying to achieve and to this end two Councillors have volunteered to meet with us to see if there is common ground for us to move forward together.

We will also be contacting the two Shenley Schools, Clore Shalom and Shenley JMI, in the near future to see if they too can be brought on board to give us even more credibility.

In the meantime, come and see us at the Shenley Community Fair on Thursday 25th in the Village Hall from 6pm. We will have a stand and would be delighted to hear from anyone who has a view on what we are doing, be it for or against. We hope to see you then.

Success!

We have finally managed to persuade Hertfordshire Highways to fulfil their promise of almost 18 months ago.

The 40 mph speed limit zone on Shenleybury will be extended to beyond the junction with Farm Close before the end of April.
