Meet us at Shenley Fete - 29 June 2009

Date: 2 June 2009

We will have a major presence at Shenley Fete on 28th June and in the procession beforehand. The procession starts at 12 noon and makes it’s way to Harris Lane fields for the start of the Fete.

We will be raising funds to finance our work as well as being available to explain what we are about and how anyone interested can become involved and help what we believe to be vital work.

There will be face painting, a bric-a-brac stall and other events.  We hope you will support the Fete generally and spare the time to come and talk to us.

You will start to see our posters around the village very soon, please make everyone aware of them.  Our petition will soon be in many locations: the Doctor’s Surgery, Shenley JMI reception, Chlore Shalom reception, as well as Pubs and Shops.  Look out for the signs in the windows and add your voice to ours.

Come and see us at the Shenley Community Fair on Thursday 25th February from 6.30pm.

Many of you will know that it was decided over a year ago that the 40 mph speed limit along Shenleybury would be extended to beyond the junction of Farm Close going towards Bell Lane.  Now 14 month later this has not happened and Hertfordshire Highways cannot or will not tell us why.

This is a disgrace and the continued failure of Highways to carry out this simple task continues to put the children of Clore Shalom School in unnecessary danger.  It also endangers the children of Shenley JMI who walk to the Clore Shalom School for their Shared Futures Project and anyone else who uses this stretch of road.

Please feel free to email the Highways department to express your feeling about this appalling situation -

If you cannot be there on the 25th and have some views please contact us.
